The Story of Nothing and Everything

The Story of Nothing and Everything

Again and again, as I sit to write this article, the story of the Buddha comes to me. I’ve resisted the impulse to write about this story for many days. I tell myself that I know nothing about Buddha or his connection to Abundance. But today, as I release my attachment to writing the “perfect” article, these words flow out of me.

Buddha was born a prince, but became disillusioned when he discovered that the riches and pomp that surrounded him were an elaborate ruse to hide the inevitable truth, that we age and we die. He decided to renounce all his possessions, titles, and land, and to leave the palace, his parents, wife and young son and to seek the truth and to see if there was a greater meaning to our lives.

For years he meditated, ate little, slept little and neglected his body almost to the point of death. This still did not bring him the peace he desired. Eventually he learned to walk the middle path of non attachment. He was asked by a follower: “What have you gained in your search?”, and he replied, “I have gained nothing, but I have lost depression, anxiety, the fear of dying and the fear of living.

The Buddha had mastered the material world.  And it is no coincidence that he was born, attained enlightenment and died during the month of May, when we feel the fullness of Spring and the abundance of the earth’s riches around us.

I am not Buddha-like, I’m not even a Buddhist.

But I resonate with being drawn to the material world and, at the same time, wanting nothing to do with it. To me the word Abundance is alive, especially the “dance” part of the word. I move back and forth between desiring possessions, money, and security and at the same time craving the peace that comes from having fewer possessions.

As I write this, I realize that a part of me is caught in a paradox — possessions or no possessions. Possessions are the central force and focus; having or not having them seem to be the only available options. So, I can understand why Buddha’s idea of having possessions, but not assigning value to them was revolutionary.

I was brought up in a middle class family, by parents who had struggled with food security and having their basic needs of life met. My parents and grandparents had survived losing every possession they had, literally. The fear of loss, of gain and losing it again were very much alive in my family psyche and it was “the air I breathed” growing up. It is no wonder that I dance with wanting; having what I want, losing what I want and not wanting to want what I want! I remember railing against my family’s fears and their seeming obsession with “not having enough”, wishing them to be different.

In this moment I have deep compassion for my grandparents for their difficulties, for my parents who were traumatized, and for myself, as their collective challenges impacted me deeply. I feel compassion for the little girl in me who needed, love, understanding and connection, and thought that an abundance of books and clothes would make up for the needs that weren’t met.

Writing and acknowledging all of this brings me peace.

I wish for you, dear reader, an abundance of whatever it is that you want right now. I know that need is real and I also know that you are on a journey, like me, back to nothing and to everything.

Peace

Energy of 2019

Energy of 2019

I’m called to send this message:

May we all walk our own path towards greater Self knowledge.

May we accept all the love and connection that is there for us in every moment.

May we take time to drop into our emotions and take in the wisdom that they offer to us.

May we leave behind those thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve our highest good.

And …

May we walk into the vision of our True Self that whispers to us from quiet places.

Why Prime Potential?

Why Prime Potential?

Imagine a child in a womb. That child is immersed physically, mentally and energetically in a system. That system is the mother’s body, her physical biology, and what she’s ingesting on many levels. Her heart rate, breathing patterns, genetics, hormones, etc., affect the fetus in real time.

Dr. Bruce Lipton (a cellular biologist) has conducted many groundbreaking experiments in the study of child and fetal biology. For instance, he has measured brain wave patterns in children zero to six years of age, and found that their brain waves are in Delta and Theta frequencies. These are the brain wave patterns associated with deep hypnosis!

Deep hypnotic states have many attributes. One of these is the ability to take in large amounts of information without having to go through a conscious learning process. This is actually a very useful adaptive mechanism for humans so that we can quickly make sense of our world for our physical survival, since we don’t learn – as the young of some animals do – to stand, walk and even run within minutes of birth. We need to learn to make meaning, correlations and to understand what to do for our physical and emotional survival.

This can be considered to be a type of “programming” that helps us to automatically navigate the world in which we live!

This programming starts with the mother (even as early as in vitro) and then through the rest of the family, community, neighborhood, schools, religious affiliations, etc. (with all the various existing belief systems). This process continues throughout our childhood and into puberty.

Unfortunately, not all the programming is beneficial or helpful because it comes through the limiting points of view of the source (family, community, etc.). For example learned gender / societal roles, family traumas, and other limitations around Self and others. These can be passed down through generations subconsciously without the child having an awareness of the programming.

If these limited beliefs are not altered or released by some means, they become the “reality” for the person, i.e. “this is the way life is/works”.

Once these beliefs are instilled, and especially if they are reinforced through trauma, they stay in the subconscious mind. The beliefs remain invisible and silent, without the person’s permission or understanding as to the reasons behind why they believe what they do. The subconscious mind does not judge right or wrong – it is very literal and simply follows the operating manual.

We all naturally, subconsciously scan for danger, but for those with more trauma, this scanning will be more prevalent and will take its toll in many areas of life. It can be especially damaging to relationships when, for example, there are triggered responses to perceived judgments, criticisms, expectations, anger, abandonment etc.

Prime Potential was designed to quickly and effectively release trauma, programming and pain that hold an individual back from engaging in healthy, loving communications and actions.

Prime Potential also replaces the old operating system with an updated program. The new program is put into place experientially into the subconscious mind i.e. there is little need for conscious relearning. It feels like and effortless change and a reset to the system.

The Program is designed so that people can move out of the ego (which is based on fear, survival, and limitation) and access their Authentic Self (which operates from Love, expansion, and freedom).

Clients that have gone through Prime Potential report being able to access an effortless flow in their lives. For example, relationships that were full of effort and/or pain become permanently changed to having a sense of ease and Love. For others, lack of motivation became a thing of the past as old fears of judgment as well as failure/success no longer held them back.

There are many reported success stories of the release from anxiety, emotional pain and even physical symptoms. And all this, leads to cascading effects on other areas of life such as improved relationships, new career opportunities, heightened self-confidence, and more energy!

Spring Forward

Spring Forward

I haven’t written in a while but felt inspired to do so given the time of year and the upcoming Easter weekend.

Today, I want to bring to your attention the cycles of our inner world (birth and death / rebirth) and how the material world reflects this pattern neatly through the seasons.

We have just come out of probably the most intense time of the year.  The period between the Winter Solstice on December 21st and the beginning of Spring on March 21st is an important time of inner growth and awareness.   This period begins with the longest night of the year deep in the month of December.  Around this time that we may feel like hibernating and retreating into the warmth and comfort of our homes.  For those in the northern hemisphere, our pituitary glands register less natural light around us.  We may feel sluggish and our metabolism slows accordingly to help us build fat and keep warm during the winter months.

During this season, we are being supported and encouraged to explore our inner world a little more. Our psyche is telling us it is okay to slow down, to look within and to take stock of our lives.  It is a time of letting go, of releasing old wounds and giving up that which no longer works for us. On a side note, have you noticed the amount of people that choose to transition off the planet in the winter? The natural cycle of death is quite literally enacted during the Winter.

The slowing down and devitalizing of the body encourage more rest, more dreaming and more time to just be. The New Year arrives on January 1st and with it all our resolutions to do life a little differently. Unfortunately our bodies do not really catch up with our mental resolve until March 21st or until the clocks change for Daylight Savings Time.  Spring forward augurs much needed light and energy, which bring a lift to our hearts and spirits!

The astrological year ends with the sign of Pisces (February 18th to March 20th).  Pisces is associated with the 12th House, which signifies karma, endings, dreams, delusions and illusions, the unconscious mind, and places where we are confined (like hospitals and prisons). Sometimes the Winter period itself can feel like a confinement!  Pisces signifies the soul that has traveled many times and has gained experience through the cycle of life-death-rebirth.

The Sun goes into Aries (the 1st sign of the Zodiac) on March 21st, setting off a new cycle of growth.  Aries represents the 1st house that rules beginnings, births, going out into the world, pioneering and adventure. There is a large amount of physical energy that comes with this enthusiasm and innocence.

On a personal level, the transition at this time of the year can be challenging as we are literally going through a phase of rebirth.  If we have done our inner work – for example looked at our unhealed wounds and patterns, and released them during the Winter – then we have a real chance at harnessing the potential of the true start of the year and the promise for rebirth and revitalization it holds.  If we have not, we may have a rude awakening as we try desperately to hold on to what is old and worn but feels familiar and safe.

Life and death / re-birth is a fundamental aspect of the human condition.  It is an age old cycle that is associated with various myths in every culture.  It is more than just a concept; it is a deep part of the human experience on this planet.  We can harness and work with the spring energy to start afresh.  To leave behind bad habits, old ways of being that don’t serve us anymore and even outworn notions of who we are supposed to be. We get a fresh start ….. and that is what the egg signifies.

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!

Change in Consciousness: The New Renaissance

Change in Consciousness: The New Renaissance

Happy 12-12-12!  In the days leading to the much maligned End of Mayan Calendar (12-21-12), I thought I would share this inspirational message from Jean Houston:

I think there is no question that many if not all have been wounded, in part because we have lived too much, too…

Posted by Jean Houston Page (Official) on Wednesday, December 12, 2012

I am  a firm believer that we are not at the “end of the world”, but simply at the end of a chapter in human development.  We are at the threshold of a quantum leap in Human Consciousness – a truly exciting time as we have the potential to become aware of our hidden abilities and to expand our Wisdom and our Power.

The Holidays: A Time for Giving …. and Receiving

The Holidays: A Time for Giving …. and Receiving

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all having a wonderful December!

I wanted to thank those of you who contacted me with questions and comments about the 21-day mental diet, following my last email.  I have responded via e-mail to those of you with questions on visualization techniques.

Today, I want to provide a different perspective on the Manifestation process, and in particularly address the topic of Receiving or Allowing our Goals to Manifest.

To begin with, think about Manifestation as a three-phase process.

Step 1 is the Outflow, where we put out to the Universe, and to our Subconscious Minds, what we truly desire.  This can take the form of writing out our goals daily (as with the 21-day plan), or through the use of visualization or affirmation techniques. This step requires absolute clarity of the desired outcome(s).

In this step we also release our desires and goals to the Universe, and hold an intention for these goals to materialize in our lives.  In essence, we are creating our desires in Spirit form.  My view of the Universe is that everything is created in Spirit first, and then on the Physical/ Material plane.

Step 2 is the Pause, where the Universe is organizing, arranging and even re-arranging the Cosmic Flow to cause certain events and situations to occur, for helpful people to show up into your lives, new ideas / action steps to emerge, etc. so that your desires can become Manifest in Physical or Material form.

Staying focused on positive, supportive thoughts (e.g. abundance, ease, love), helping others to achieve their goals, and sending prayers and blessings are great ways to assist in this phase.

The final part, Step 3, is the Inflow, where we Receive that which we are after; it is in this part of the Manifestation process that our goals are Manifest.

** A caveat: Please continue to take action steps in support of our goals throughout the process.  Do not think of Steps 2 and 3 as times to stop taking action (Physical) and simply waiting for the outcome.  Whatever your goal is, keep going with your action plan (working out, writing your book, saving for a home/car, etc.) … as long as there are actions/tasks for you to complete. **

In my experience, people can be very focused on Step 1 – continuing to put out what they want to the Universe.  The challenges usually occur in Steps 2 and 3 – where people hit up against either one or both of these issues: i) a need for control and ii) issues around deserve / worth.

In the Pause and Inflow, there is no space or really even a need for control – it is really about Surrendering to the Universe.  And the issue around self-worth – which is really a belief that we don’t deserve what we desire – is unfortunately all too prevalent in our society.

Here is a quick test you can do to check on your capacity to Receive what you say you desire: Hold the “picture” or visual image of you having your goal for 33 seconds. This involves seeing yourself fully realized in your goal and visualizing this outcome in a bubble close to your heart (not in your heart though!).

If you are unable to hold this image for 33 seconds, there may be an issue around your level of clarity for what you desire.  Or, it may be that you are hitting on a belief about deserving the outcome.  If this is the case, don’t worry, for there is an opportunity to do some internal work to uncover the core issue and to do some healing.

Remember, this is all a learning process, a growing process. We are here to learn and grow and this is a vital part of our reason for being here on Earth.

As I work with my clients, I am increasingly working on what I call “People’s Stories” – this is the very personal story that we each create when we are young.  A story of our parents, our family life, who we are are, how we are, what we believe, how the world is, etc.  And it is fascinating to me how these stories play out in our lives, if we don’t modify them, as we become adults. <This will be a topic for a future blog.>

I bring this up now, because so often our stories impact our ability to create and live successful lives, the lives that we say we want to live.  Again, the good news is that we can heal and even change or rewrite our Stories, and open ourselves up to Receive the bounty of the Universe.

For now, keep on moving forward and be the incredible Creators that you are.  You will know your goals are coming to you when you begin to experience movement in your life and when small messages come your way. It is very important to validate yourself for any and all achievements towards your goal(s) at this time. Proceed without doubt and ACT as if no other outcome is possible than the one you are after.  And remember, stay open to Receive!

Love and Peace,
Anarah
